Why Your Photography Business Needs a Blog

As important as it is for photographers to have a website where they can showcase their portfolio and services, a website and a few social media pages are not always enough to bring in more business. In a competitive market place, starting your own blog is an effective and easy to implement marketing strategy to drive more traffic to your website and in turn convert more prospects into paying customers.

A study conducted by HubSpot showed that companies who blogged received 55% more traffic to their website and had 434% more pages indexed by search engines than companies who didn’t.

Take a look at some of today’s successful photographers. Jasmine Star, Katelynn James, Amy and Jordan, to name but a few, all have blogs. You probably also have a few photography blogs that you read on a regular basis. Your website tells people about your business but your blog gives you a voice. A blog offers your audience something of value and it gives them the chance to get to know you.

Creating quality content on a regular basis sends positive signals to search engines. When more of your website pages are indexed you increase the chances of relevant, potential clients finding your website and enquiring about your services.

As photographers you already have so many things to think about.  So to help save you time I've created the Photographer's Blog Post Subscription Service.  Each month you will receive a set of blog posts sent straight to your e-mail. All you have to do is upload and add your photos.  You can find out more about it by clicking here

By blogging on a regular basis, you are giving existing and prospective clients the perfect excuse to visit your website. Not only will you be positioning yourself as an industry expert but you’ll increase the chances of new clients booking you. A blog that is updated regularly also gives you the opportunity to inform clients about any upcoming offers or discounts that you might be running.

Getting a visitor to your website is not as easy a task as it seems but a blog is just one of the ways you can start increasing your traffic numbers and potentially your bookings too.
